1954 Chevrolet 3100 5 WINDOW,,,, (actually 7 window).... EXTENDED CAB,,,, Specifically built for entry into the One-Lap-Of-America,,,, Cannonball Run, sponsored by Car and Driver with The Tire Rack.
This vehicle was built over a 3-1/2 to 4 year period. The truck was never raced. It consists of a All-Steel Body and custom fabricated 2"x6" boxed tubing frame with engine bay, cockpit and rear rollcages.

Paint and Body:
Original 1954 5 Window Cab, fenders, hood, doors, running boards, bed and tailgate. Custom Fabrication of Cab Extension of 10" between the doors and the original side windows and the addition of a Second Window on each side. Rear Window was enlarged to match side and curved corner glass height. Also, the firewall was recessed 4" to accomodate the BBC. The hood is REVERSE-TILT, gas shock assisted. The running boards were extended 10" to match the cab. All the body is done in sheetmetal with minimum filler used.
The paint is 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Anniversary Red Pearlcoat PPG Code DBU5948K, tri-coat, pearl. Over 4 gallons of paint were used. Quiet Coat Automotive Noise and Vibration coating was used on all undersides of fenders, hood, doors, cab floors and firewall and frame.
Fuel System:
ATL 44 gallon fuel cell with built-in 3 door surge tank, 3 layer rubber bladder, foam baffling, scavenge jet, ball type check valves.Dual Aeromotive 500 lb/h fuel pumps, frame mounted. Russel and Aeroquip aircraft hoses and fittings used throughout system.
Exterior:
Front OEM Grille, triple-chrome plated, with racing grille, painted to match truck. Exterior chrome mirrors from 1994 Ford F-350. Pack-A-Sport luggage carrier mounted in bed via 4-quick release pins for removal at track and hotel. Color coordinated as well. Diamond Plated bed floor, custom fabricated to incorporate the rear wheel tubs. Tailgate mounted Wing, fully adjustable via heim joints, polished aluminum 4" tall x 48" wide.
2 Million Candle Power Hella Aircraft Landing Lights used as floods on front with 55 watt back-up lights on the rear. A custom 3rd tail light integrated into the rear of the cab, flush mounted, with courtesy light. Rear tail lights have stainless steel brackets and cases.
Front and rear bumpers are chrome plated along with tailgate chains. Rubber sleeves house the chains to protect the bed paint.
Interior:
Dash: Custom fabricated metal constructed dash with Aluminum overlay. Auto Meter Phantom Series Gauges. 160 mph, 9,000 RPM, Oil, H20, Boost, Trans Temp, Fuel, Fuel Press, Alpine CAV 1004 Stereo
Seats: Recaro Posterpedic, lumbar support, suede black, leather insert, 5 Simpson point cam-lock seat belts,
Electric windows, Electric review mirror with outside temp and auto dimming,
Leather padded dash pad and door panels, and Italian deep piled carpet.
Vintage Air Conditioning System. Top of the line control unit with defrost/heat/cooling. System condenser placed in truck bed due to limited space in the engine compartment with its own cooling fan.
Rear Wall of Cab: Electronic Junction/Fuse/Relay/Component Center
All the fuse boxes, relays, and electronic controllers are mounted on a series of mounting rails for easy access and troubleshooting. The main fuse box is a Wireworks 18 circuit. A 16 point diagnostic monitoring system is installed, but not wired yet
All side windows are tinted charcoal. The headliner is custom fabricated in black leather with an image of a Spade and outlines streaming along its edges.
Quick Silver Rachet Shifter and Lokar Emergency Brake Lever on center console. Miscellaneous toggle and rocker switches to contol lights, pumps and fans as well.
The steering column is a Ididit Chrome Plated, Tilt with turn signals and cruise control. A Le Carra padded leather steering wheel is attached.

Power Brakes: Brake master cylinder with power booster mounted under dash. Remote vacuum pump (Cadillac) provides vacuum for power booster. Master cylinder is transverse mounted under dash so that firewall remains clean.
Engine compartment: Mirror polished aluminum panels cover firewall. No wire or hose pass-thrus on firewall. Fender wells are custom fabricated from anodized aluminum panels.
